Insurance contract law reform
Insurance contract law is archaic and widely regarded as capable of giving rise to serious injustice, particularly when applied to consumer contracts.
The English and Scottish Law Commissions are currently reviewing this area of law and in December 2009 reported with recommedations for the reform of elements of consumer insurance contract law and a draft Bill.
On Monday 16 May 2011 the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and
Representations) Bill was introduced into the House of Lords by Lord Sassoon.
